When people ask me what thing do I miss most about the D-land of my childhood, I often surprise them with my answer....THE PARKING LOT. I adored being dropped off right in front of the park. Like RIGHT in front. (what they call the Esplanade now. Basically the courtyard between D-land and DCA)...

So I love this photo tons.

Oh how I miss that parking lot! The signs were so cool (my favorite was Bambi for obvious reasons). The anticipation of the day ahead would culminate as you walked from your car and see the Monorail whizz overhead. I even loved those old electricity towers that stood in the middle of the lot.

Good times.

I remember, as a child, I thought the electric transmission towers were needed to supply just Disneyland with power!
