Two Views of Main Street 1960s

Busy weekend so I will not be able to scan an SOP. I promise to start back up next week. To keep all of you occupied are a couple views of Main Street, the Fire House with Walt's apartment above. Unlike Major Pepperidges view, I do not think Walt was in the apartment when this was snapped. It is a nice early morning shot. The next image is my favorite store on Main Street, the Emporium. Think of all the souvenirs that sat on those shelves over the years and were purchased by excited guests (and are now purchased by excited collectors!)

The Fire Station photo is interesting...that tunnel backstage is something I've never see before. I should look at some aerial photos so that I can try to determine what's back there!

What's back there now is just some seating for Emporium CMs to have a quick break. It's walled off now though. That cool looking path isn't there anymore.
Great photos though. Classic Emporium shot. Makes me recall all the countless hours I spent folding/stocking/selling merchandise in there, until they let us loose around 2:30-3 a.m.

The wooden structure behind the fire station isn not a tunnel. It is an open air shed next to the covered parking area of the Main Street Trolly cars. It is still there today for storage and Use by Circle D Cast members for the horse equipment. That dirt path led into the jungle cruise to the native village scene. There is now a break room structure on that spot (built right up against the wooden shed) and there is a small path up the berm and into the native village scene of the jungle cruise.
