California Golden Poppies On Nature's Wonderland Railroad 1970

Natures Wonderland Railroad is consistently one of the rides most missed at Disneyland. It was a fun and scenic ride on a slow moving train that the whole family could enjoy. And it was very repeatable. Now I do like Big Thunder, but feel the speed is too fast and lets face it, as a roller coaster it is pretty weak. With Nature's Wonderland, you actually saw nature, such as these California Golden Poppies Eschsholtzia californica on the trackside and you had enough time to enjoy it. Well, maybe my age is showing. If you look real close, you can see some of the bubbling pots in the background. Slide is dated Apr 1970.

Gorgeous stuff as usual PJ!

Have you considered posting some of your paper items here too? Or is it going to be strictly slides...?

Tang- the hope is to put some of the paper items up as well. Right now I am concentrating on the color slides. I have a bunch of snapshots I want to post as well.

FYI - This photo is reversed. The paint pots are to the right of the geysers. Your site is fantastic and keep up the good work.

One more thing. You can see the wildcat balancing atop the rock in the upper lef hand side of the picture.

A different "anonymus" here.. From my recollection, the picture looks to be perfectly positioned. The bobcat is balancing on the left side of this photo which was the logical position for it to peer down upon the train as it was entering into the Cavern. Loved working on this ride back in the early 70's.
