Back View of Souvenir Stand

Another souvenir stand image this time from the back. The stand was located across from Storybook Canal boats. The guide book is the 1957 version, but also the 1958 maps are stacked on the counter (even the envelope is stacked there.) The employee is wearing a I Like Disneyland Mickey Mouse flasher button.

Great photo! Kind of slim pickings for a souvenir stand. Lollipops, sunglasses, banners, and just a few other items. I love the fact that you can see those conical paper hats that show up in SO many early Disneyland photos!

WOW, FUN! Those '57 Guide Books and '58 Maps have no idea how valuable they will become some day....

Hey, how did the cashier enter this booth? There is no way that 150 pound cash register moved out of the way, did they have to crawl under it to get in?

Thanks!

What a nice, historic image.

It looks like the vendor could enter beneath the cash register. It almost looks like the lower wall at that point slides across that opening we see. Neat.

What an unusual view! Looks like the photographer was stalking the souvenir stand from behind the bushes.

Now that you mention it, I recall employees entering and exiting stands in that manner.

What a great shot with a strange angle!

Maybe the photographer was stalking the saleslady...

Your right about the entering & exiting method. It was a standard method on most of the small stands and booths (even the larger HobbyLand area across from the Flight Circle). And, yes, bumped heads were the norm. Later, they put the register to the side, and other stuff on the door, and the whole thing opened as a unit. Funny how all these little memories come back because of the great photos. Thanks.
