Fantasyland Benches

A lovely portrait of a painted bench in Fantasyland. It appears this fancy bench sits in front of the Peter Pan attraction. I love the different colors that are painted on the bench.

These are my favorite benches from vintage Disneyland. I've also seen a few photos of these benches near the Matterhorn. Thanks!

Too funny. This bench is visible over at Major Pepperidge's site today. http://gorillasdontblog.blogspot.com/2015/10/outside-merlins-magic-shop-august-1968.html

I remember there used to be more benches in the Park (like this one and the one in the arch way leading to Snow White's Wishing Well), but under the Paul Pressler reign of Disneyland benches were considered evil. So many were removed and replaced with large outdoor vending carts, or just taken away. The reason, "If they can't sit down, then they will be up buying!" OH, don't get me started...

Always your pal,
Amazon Belle

PS It was interesting to see how Marty Sklar addressed Paul in his book "Dream it! Do it!" Fortunately, I left the WDC the same month and year Paul got promoted from the Disney Stores to Disneyland.

I love these old benches. A few of them have shown up on recently… one was for sale on eBay, painted white. Another one was on somebody’s front porch… they had acquired it through a cast member auction (or something). Here’s a photo of it, looking very rusty!
