1968 Sea World San Diego

A visit to Sea World in 1968. A double image showing Shamu (look in the right hand area for a ghost image of spectators in the stands.)

Another shot of Shamu, this time jumping out of the water.

A couple of nice images of the landscaping around the Japanese Pavilion.

Final image is one of the Pearl divers.

This brought back some great memories! I haven't been to Sea World in ages.

I wonder how many Shamus there have been??

Major: The magic oracle of Wikipedia doesn't mention an exact number of "Shamus", perhaps it's something beyond human knowing. Or perhaps I'm too lazy to look any further.

I DID learn that Shamu came from She + Namu (a male killer whale meant to be her "boyfriend"). That didn't work out, so it was splitsville.
