Space Needle at Seattle World's Fair

Two views from the Seattle World's Fair featuring the Space Needle. The images are from a film strip that showcased the needle. First up is a nice view of the needle structure.

The second image shows the golden elevators used to transport guests to the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle.

This is still one of the coolest things ever built.

It's kinda funny they mention "three" elevators. In a sense, it's correct, as the 4th elevator is a service elevator. The one elevator dedicated to serving the Revolving Restaurant, known these days as SkyCity (which is located underneath the Observation Deck), runs slower than the two Observation Deck cars - which run @ 800 fpm.
