Souvenir Friday- Freedomland Pre-Opening Brochure 1960

To start off a long posting series on the New York City amusement park Freedomland is this scan of the first two foldouts for the pre-opening brochure. The graphic design and original design art in this brochure is amazing. Look for more Freedomland posts throughout the week and maybe beyond.

Very cool Indeed! I was looking at this post thinking "Hmmm, the early art work looks like a Disneyland ripoff".

Then I see the "Pirate Ride" and I am now wondering if maybe Disneyland "borrowered" this idea from FreedomLand?!

I can't wait to see your full post of FreedomLand! Thanks so much!

Cool! One of those pieces of concept art was done by P.O.P. art director Dave Comstable...

"205 acres of Gay colorful Americana!"

Wow! The first American gay pride festival!

I knew of Freedomland back when it existed, but I never got to visit it or see any pictures, so this will be a fascinating series.
