In 1962 the Disneyland University presented a film series to orientate Disneyland employees about some of the films that influenced the attractions and lands of their workplace. This film Third Man on the Mountain influenced my favorite Disneyland attraction the Matterhorn. This nifty little program features a story synopsis, some background information on the film and also the influence of the film on Disneyland. Some great films were shown as seen by the list on the back page. Enjoy the read...

I'm a big fan of the Matterhorn at Disneyland as well. "Third Man on the Mountain" was directed by Ken Annakin, who also directed Walt Disney's "Swiss Family Robinson". Both films also featured and James MacArthur and Janet Munro.
I have a hard time swallowing the "Facts" and "Information" of this document which states the cast edged along mile-high ledges without safety ropes, cast off safety lines to work on the brink of crevasses and precipices and dangled upside over a sheer 3,000 drop. Watching the film it looks as if many of the close up scenes were done on a sound stage. Gotta love the Disney PR machine.
"Banner in the Sky" is the book "Third Man on the Mountain" was based on. I have both the film and the book and found both to be quite enjoyable.
