1965 New York World's Fair Walkways

A selection of walkways from the 1965 New York World's Fair. First up is a view showing the crowd and in the background is the Mormon Pavilion. Be sure to look at the clock in the foreground.

A view of the Chrysler car sculpture and the Moon Dome in the background.

A closer view of the Chrysler car. I really dig the plastic bucket seats with the Mopar logo.

A closer view of the Moon Dome with the snack bar and the auto fountains. The trash cans as barrier is a nice design.

These are wonderful. I just finished reading "The Official Guide" to the 64/65 NYWF (312 pages - from the editors of Time-Life books) This looks like such an amazing fair, I'm afraid something on this scale will never be repeated.

I love those square light posts!

I see the aura of ghosts in each photo!

VDT, the Shanghai World's Fair (last year) was unbelievably huge - bigger than the '64 Fair - and it did look pretty cool. But I also heard that most of the big pavilions had lines of up to 5 hours. Ooog!

The blue seats in the photos with the Chrysler logo on them are not plastic, but metal.
