Happy Trails Buckskin Joe (Part 2)

The other major attraction at Buckskin Joe is a zoo train that rides 3 miles of track out to the edge of the Royal Gorge. The Royal Gorge is a fantastic canyon rivaling the Grand Canyon in beauty. The city of Canon City has constructed a suspension bridge and a skyway ride over the gorge. The structures can be seen from the look out point at the halfway point on the railroad journey. The train is a classic GMC style diesel engine with cute red cars. The train has been maintained and still looks as good as new.

The train travels through some nice landscape. Riding the train I was struck how the scenes reminded me of Nature's Wonderland.

The stopping point is quite a nice scenic view of the Royal Gorge and the bridge.

What a great series of pics. Thanks for all the before and after shots. The Royal Gorge area is spectacular. And the trains (of course) are beautiful. Thank you Matterhorn, very much appreciated.

Nice set which brought back so good memories. I was at the Gorge as a young kid and remember being pretty excited yet a little leery when going across.
Thanks.
