SOP Saturday- Disneyland Sales Approach

This is one of my favorite SOPs, how to sell Disneyland souvenirs and gifts. I like the soft sales approach and the philosophy stated that Disneyland used to purchase and design merchandise. And then the back of the book lists all the stores, who ran them and what kind of merchandise was sold there. Many a cool item that collectors covet came from many of these stores. I hope you enjoy the book.

Looks like the Big Mooseketeer (the great Roy Williams) was doing some moonlighting. His illustrations here are great!

Wow, what a collection you have! Thank you for sharing these amazing SOP's, Matterhorn...they are something I would NEVER have the opportunity to see otherwise.

And thanks for all of the other photos you post as well!

That's a great find. I used to work at the Disney Catalog in the late 90's, and the rules from that book still hold true. It's nice to know some things never change.

Patrick - this is the post I meant to leave my comment on; so again, is there a year on this manual? Many thanks for posting it - this one is great!

Hey Daveland- sorry for the delay in answering your question- the SOP dates to about 1959 or so. It is before the commonplace use of credit cards and some of the shops went out in the early 1960s.

Thanks Patrick - too bad we don't have a list like that for every year to help keep track of the ever-changing Main Street shops
