SOP Saturday- 1962 Summer Training Program

This is a very unusual item, the draft and schedule for training Disneyland employees for the summer of 1962. I believe this was sent to all supervisors and managers to involve them in this important training. Additionally the training was not just for new employees and the summer employees, but all employees including those from the lessees and WED were required to attend. I like the justification for the training at the front of the document, I wonder if it still holds true today? Note I do not show the entire document as the last pages are just training dates.

I love how companies (even Disney) brainwash employees into believing that the company is losing money. That's hard to swallow (even in 1962) for an hourly paid worker. Great insite into the workings of Disney. Thanks for posting the documents.

It sounds like they didn't really mean that they were "in the red", but that there was money that COULD have been made that was lost through inefficiency.

It is a bit strange to read so much about money in this training program, since most SOP's are more about quality of service. Interesting though....

GREAT item! And yes, companies DO lose money through inefficient operation. Corporations are not all greedy, mindless operations. They are run by REAL people like YOU and ME! Have you ever run a company? Try it.

Keep up the great posts on the SOPs. I'm sorry I've been slow to get you what I promised. Like yourself things have been busy.
