View of Fantasyland From Pirate Ship 1955

Wonderful 1955 view of the colorful land of Fantasyland with swirling tea cups, stately carrousel, and the old style primary color fronts on the dark rides Snow White and Peter Pan. Pictures was taken from the old Chicken of the Sea Pirate ship to get a nice height for this panoramic view. The old teacups were probably a safety nightmare with no doors and no chains. What would todays society think of such a thing where everything is gated and signed to the extreme? Looks like it was a fairly crowded day. Slide is dated July 1955.

I love your blog so far and hate for my first comment to be a sort of "look heres a mistake", but I run my own web site and know I like it when folks let me know about inconsistancies they see there. I think the person who marked the slide was mistaken, you see the earliest pictures I have of the tea cups show them not on that swirl covered platter but on a solid purple platter just for referance the earliest two views I can find real quick are postcards stock numbers P12362, and D112

Hey Brian, I am going to stick with 1955 (maybe not July, but definitely 1955) as the rest of the images in the grouping are from the same year. Also, going by postcards to date is not the best way as many of the postcards used the same image (or an image from the same shoot) for many years. That is one reason why I collect these images as they show things that were never shown in guidebooks or on postcards.
