Happy Hollow Streamliner National City, California

A small zoo train at a park in south San Diego in 1947. Quite a fun train. I believe this still exists and is at Rohr park, although in a different paint job.

I love miniature trains. I used to ride a really cool streamliner train at Knowland Park Zoo in Oakland when I was a kid in the 60s. I think the train is still there, but is no longer a streamliner.

Rohr Park is in the Bonita area of Chula Vista. It has a layout of 7.5" gauge tracks which are maintained and operated on certain weekends by the Chula Vista Live Steamers group. However, it is quite unlike the zoo train (perhaps 15" or 16" gauge) that is shown here.

The 7.5" gauge trains are similar to the size Walt Disney had in his backyard Carolwood Pacific Railroad (7.25" gauge).
