Coin Operated Model T Rides

Two different snapshots of a similar coin operated ride at two different locations. The ride is a coin operated Model T car. The kids in each image appear to be enjoying the ride. Unfortunately there is no marking of the location on either photograph.

The second one is diffidently Knott's Berry Farm, that's the Merry-Go-Round in the background.

Love pics of those coin op rides from the past. Brings up memories of trips to the local supermarket when I was a little kid.

These are unusual cars. I tried to find what company made them, but I was only able to locate one other on the web, and they didn't identify the maker. The common Moder T coin op is made by Bally (and is the one I remember as a kid) It sits on a pedestal, much like a ride on horse. These cars are actually on a six inch tall stand that is apparently sunk into the ground. I would assume the whole stand moves, hence the wheel chocks. But...that's all I know...

Hi Patrick!
Both of your photos were taken at Knott's Berry Farm. These little cars were constructed over at Bud Hurlbut's shop. If you'd like to see what they look like today, I'll post a photo on our Facebook page at Stack's Liberty Ranch.

Nice shots!
