Spaceman and Spacewoman Circa 1958

A fun group of photographs circa 1958. First up is a nice view from the Skyway of Fantasyland. I love the amount of color in this shot. Also in the picture is the rare Fantasyland ticket booth.

Next up is a view of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

A nice early evening shot of the Astro Jets and Tomorrowland. In the foreground is an attraction poster for the Sailing Ship Columbia.

Last image is from Tomorrowland featuring the Spaceman and Spacewoman and the two boys. It sure looks like the future is very hot as the boys have shed their shirts.

If it was hot that day, I imagine the Spaceman must be warm in that helmet. At least his suit is reflective.

Beautiful Skyway pic.

Great photos! I always think it is weird when you see people letting their little kids walk around without a shirt on. Disneyland isn't the local swimming pool, fer cryin' out loud. I'll bet Walt didn't like it either!

Oh Major, you went and did it...you got me started on a rampage. I HATE it when people let their kids run around in swimsuits or worse, underwear in Tomorrowland where that weird giant granite ball fountain thing is. Just irritates me to no end!!!

As for that first photo, I'm still trying to recover from the shock. As a kid, I dreaded going on the SkyWay for one reason - those towers. This photo catches the white/cream colored gondola just as it hits the tower and I will NEVER forget the loud, thunderous sound it made and how the gondola shook. It scared this 3 year old to death!!!! (I was 3 then, not now, LOL!)
