Views From 1956 Part 5

Today I am calling these two slides Frontierland a world on the move. First up is a view of the natural part of Frontierland with the western Stage Coach, Yellowstone Yellow Stage Coach and Pack Mules all converging.

Next up is the Mark Twain sitting at the dock. I believe this image was taken from the Plantation Inn.

The park before the advent of the 'legal protections afforded us' is just amazing. Kids hanging off the back of a stage coach. Go ahead, find that attraction anywhere today.

The Plantation House (aka Chicken Plantation) is actually well to the right of the photographer in that shot. All you gotta do to locate it is remember that it was just in front of where POTC is today and slightly North, exactly centered on the area in front of the North staircase going up to the Disney Gallery (or what used to be the DG, I guess I should say). You step down off those stairs and walk directly forward a few yards and you're smack dab. Listen for the ghosts of chickens clucking.

You can see the Golden Horseshoe in this photo and can get a rough feel for where the POTC building would be in another decade.

Man, these are about as good as they get. Clear, great color, and full of 50's flavor. Even that split-rail fence is awesome!
