Souvenir Friday- Disneyland Classics Dye Transfer Animation Print

In the mid to late 1960s, Disneyland produced and sold prints of animation artwork. Most of the characters and animation art chosen was from the classic films. This is one of my favorites, Chip and Dale. The art is very nice and high quality. The label on the back is nice as well. Other scenes in this series include Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Bambi and Thumper, Dumbo, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket, and even Winnie the Pooh. The original retail price was around $3.00.

Howard Lowery used to sell dye transfer prints for a pretty decent chunk of change.

I don't like the look of that masking tape on the back...!

The 'Classics' line were not really dye transfers, they were offset lithography, so not as high quality. Strangely, the Classics are a lot harder to find. Guess people liked the look of the dye transfers more.
