Sea World 1969

Three views of the San Diego theme park Sea World from 1969. First up is a nice image of the entrance ticket booths. The Polynesian theming is very evident by the large A frame structure as well as the beams with the nice outer details. The beams look like an outrigger canoe.

A view of the Japanese Pavilion. This is where the pearl divers would dive down and pick up an oyster which you could then purchase and get to keep any pearl in the oyster.

Last image shows the Dolphin show with the cute pirate ship and the tiki in the middle of the lagoon. The volcano was a great special effect.

Love that first picture! And the pseudo-Japanese style of the second photo is interesting too.

I've never been to Sea World, but I've always thought I should go check it out at least once. Someday!

Does anyone know if they still have that Skyway ride visible in the third pic?
