Souvenir Friday- Disneyland Pre-Opening Lessee Information and America On Parade

Another item from a grouping I purchased many years ago is this mimeographed sheet sent to all the original Disneyland Lessee's specifying the opening day expectations. The sheet is dated July 12th and has intriguing information about what is planned for opening day on July 17th.

In celebration of July 4th, and keeping with the souvenir theme are these 4 images from a commercial set of slides. These are not the usual Pana Vue slides, but are put into cardboard mounts and unmarked as far as manufacturer.

Those giant bicentennial figures are just downright scary!

Have a great 4th Matterhorn. Thanks for all the great pics, Richard.

How great would it have been to be involved with all the pre-opening prep of the park? One can only imagine.

Thanks for the pre-opening memo. Documentation of how they actually make Disneyland run is, to me, the most interesting.

Thanks also for the Bicentennial Parade photos. Too easy to make fun of (in a loving way actually) so let's all just smile and enjoy them.

By the way, are your "Word Verification" codes getting longer? Today mine is "Wjakndka" - which I think is the name of a Polish Pastry. Or Mme. Currie's maiden name. JK
