World's Fair Wednesday- 1939 New York

Two nice souvenir images featuring the theme center, otherwise known as the Trylon and Perisphere. Still one of my favorite World's Fair.

the 1939 NYWF is by far my favorite fair, and of course I love the Trylon and Perisphere...I wish they would have left them the way they left lots of the '64 structures...

The '39 Fair is definitely one of my "time machine" wishes. SO incredible. I'd be sure to see Salvador Dali's "Dream of Venus", since it didn't survive to 1940.

I have just a few color slides from this fair, I'll scan them and post them soon (although some are from a girlie show and might not be blog-appropriate).
