Main Street 1959

From November 1959 some nice views of Main Street. First up is the Main Street Station. I love the attraction posters and the employee selling guide books.

The other side of the station showing the Omnibus with the great advertising signs on the side of bus. Quite a crowd milling about.

A view of the Horse Drawn Trolley. Love the hat on the horse and especially the attraction poster.

Last shot is of the Omnibus at the Hub with the Omnibus Stops Here sign. Check out the construction on the Sleeping Beauty Castle at the far left of the slide

I wonder how much a guide book would have cost back then. 50 cents? A dollar?

Aw love the hat on Nelly. And posing for us too. Thanks for the closeup of the sign! I'm checking me pocket for a... ah a dime! :D

Construction off to the left of Omnibus pic, what would it have been for I wonder? The Omnibus sign is certainly simple: "OMNIBUS stops here." The street car sign is super though.

It's little things like that which make you feel close to being there. :)

I'm digging around to find clue about the "little lost turret" on the west side of Disneyland castle...and here it is being built!!! Wow.
