Vaya Con Dios Betty Kimball
Yesterday I read about the passing of Betty Kimball at the age of 97. Betty worked at the Walt Disney Studios in the Ink and Paint department. There she met Ward Kimball and they got married and were married for 66 years. Ward was definitely a character and it must have been a roller coaster ride. But based upon drawings and stories, Ward was deeply in love with Betty and Betty was his team mate in their adventures. From Ward and Betty's estate is this collection of postcards from Ward's trip to Greenfield Village in 1948 with Walt. Ward and Walt visited this museum in Detroit on their way back home from the Chicago Railroad Fair.

While it is very sad that Betty Kimball died, she and her husband definitely lived rich, fulfilling lives; like you said, they made a great team!

I'm saddened that not only the end of the Kimball's chapter have come to a close, but also an era where dreams could be made into reality, no matter what they were.
Imagine, having a full scale operational train in your own backyard? That is unheard of by todays standards, and most likely outlawed in every incorporated city. I am however, happy that they are finally reunited in spirit. May their names never be forgotten in Disney History.
