Making the Jungle Cruise Animals 1954- African Animals
Final day of the photographs showing the Jungle River Cruise animals being sculpted and constructed at the Walt Disney Studio's model shops. The images today all include the requisite cute young actress. First off is the giraffe being fed by an actress who was in the first set of photographs. Lots of stuff going on in the background.

I can't imagine sculpting something as large as that elephant. Looking at those shop fans in the first photo makes me think that the building probably got really hot in the summer (and pretty cold in the winter too).
Should those last two photos reference the African Elephant, not lion?

I'm lovin' this series of pictures you're posting! Like many a geek before me, I've spent my days in Disneyland not just enjoying the "rides" but wondering who built those figures, where were they built, how long did it take, etc. You've got a real set of treasures - thanks so much for sharing!
Anonymous-you are absolutely correct- African Elephants. The True to Life picture the African Lion got stuck in my head!
