Finale of the Carousel of Progress

A lovely image of the final act for the Carousel of Progress. I like how the photographer included not only the stage, but also the large GE sign over the top and the crowd as well.

Posting may be sporadic for the next week as I am off to sell at the D23 Expo. If you are attending, stop by booth and say hello.

OK, there's the narrator, and then "Mother", but who's that other woman sitting on the sofa?

Great Photo and Great question Major! At first I thought it was the grandma, but on a closer look, that can't be??? Judy Garland maybe?

Two wives a Christmastime? Maybe this is the nixed Mormon version.

Wonder if this is the World's Fair version. I only remember "mother" and "father" in Disneyland. Intresting!

I vaguely remember that the animatronic host had "family" visiting for the Christmas holiday. I think that is his wife's sister, or maybe his mother-in-law.

I definitely remember that earlier stages included other family members, parents, and maybe other aunts and uncles or cousins...remember the guy in the bathtub with the fan and block of ice in the "summer" scene.

Great pix, great memories. I have nothing from this since no flash was allowed.

Is there a script available anywhere?

Have a good time at the expo.

This is the World's Fair version of Act 4. The G.E. logo did not appear above the stages at DL. Also, the exterior winter scene was replaced with the "Progress City" backdrop for DL. The Xmas tree was also different and it was repositioned behind the sofa. I've seen shots of this scene from the Fair before and they've never shown two women on the sofa, so I'm baffled as well. The lady on the left appears to be "Mother." Could the other woman have been a live person joining the audio-animatronic cast for a publicity photo?

I've seen this picture before and wondered about that woman. The final scene never had anyone else other than father and mother in it until it moved to Disneyworld. She looks like a real person too....maybe it's a photobomb!
