Speedster on the Midget Autopia

The little girl driving the car on the Midget Autopia is pressing the pedal to the metal causing her to speed and making her very blurry for her dad's photograph. She must have hit just the right spike in electricity from the center rail. I hope she learned her lesson and is not a speedster now.

were the midget autopia cars electric? I had assumed they had internal combustion engines like the full sized ones.. (the rail on the normal autopia is there to keep you from driving off the track)

My understanding is that they were electrified and not internal combustion engines. The bodies are really small and there is not that much room to put a gasoline engine in there. Also in the image you can see the cast member running the ride the same as the rest of the Fantasyland dark rides which are all electric.
