Model Shop Photos- Country Bear Jamboree May 1971

With the new The E-Ticket Magazine out and featuring articles on the model shop at WED, I thought it was time to run this series of images from the model for Bear Country Jamboree. The first is of Ernest playing his one string fiddle. The second is an image of programming Henry. I do not know any of the employees, so if anyone can ID them I would appreciate it. These photos came from an old company that used to make ceramics for Disneyland and there was talk of them making the ceramic bears. But, they never did make the ceramics and kept the photos until the company was shut down.

Jeez, Ernest looks kinda scary in that first photo!

I'm wondering if the man with the pipe is Wathel Rogers? Just a guess on my part though...tangaroa will know!

Wonderful photos!

I agree with Major on Wathel Rogers. The man next to him looks like Bill Justice, not sure about the other guy. DD

you're freaking me out! i must have the other part of that collection and was going to post some pics on monday.

this is from the randotti estate? my pics are from their trip to florida during the construction of WDW. they were working on the country bear merchandise at the time.

it also looks like we share halves of the 1950s sign dept photo collection.

weird...

The young blond guy is Jack Taylor. He also animated figures for Pirates and is pictured in the Pirates souvenir book from the 60s. Taylor's son Chris worked in recent years at Disney Consumer Products...

Another similar set of model photos were given to Hudson/Chilmark Pewter --they were to do a Country Bear Jamboree pewter figure set and a Hall Of Presidents set for WDW's Opening--the Hall Of Presidents set was done, the the CBJ never made it beyond a merchandise announcement-the 'Presidents' show up now-and-then, however the base with the Disney reference is the hard part to come by--the figures are also identifiable by the attractions' mactching poses-Mike (WEDWAY)

love the set of CBJ photos. used to be my favorite attraction as a tyke. one of these days when the mouse approves some vacation for me, i'll head on down to the other sunny state and visit the attraction like i used to remember it. :)
