Signs Of The Time 1969

The last three images from 1969. First up is a lovely shot at the Flower Market on Main Street. You can see Carnation on the right hand side and the entrance to the arcade of shops on the left hand side.

Next up a view of the exit to the Enchanted Tiki Room. Love the merchandise in the fore ground.

Next up is a shot of the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship restaurant. I do miss this lovely site.

The last image is a composite of a close up of the various signs seen in the slides. Christopher D. Miller window is in honor of Walt's grandson.

Nice Flower market/Carnation Ice Cream Parlor pic. West Center Street has practically disappeared over the years.

It was a different time. Yes there would be crowds at times, but there was peacefulness and beauty that one could stop and appreciate...and not be pushed along by the masses. Hard to pay the amount of money they want today when you can get the same mass "rush" on the freeway.
