Santa Claus California

Christmas in July....two postcards from the roadside attraction that was once on the 101 Freeway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. First postcard shows the interior of the store filled with great cookie jars and other Christmas items.

The second postcard shows the exterior with the iconic Santa Claus on the roof and a great miniature train that runs through the parking lot. The other great item is the sign with reindeer and Santa's sleigh.

I've never seen these before; love the interior especially.

I'm pleased to say that none of the stuff in the first picture looks familiar. Shop photos frequently have pictures of stuff that my folks once had, and some of it still makes me cringe.

The giant Santa perched on the chimney is now in Oxnard somewhere along the 101 Fwy...

Check out - nelsonfilms.com/roadside-santa
It a short film on how they moved Santa and where in now resides. I live in the area so on my way to LA, I always wave to Santa.

I use to love this place when I was a kid. Our family would always make Santa Claus Lane our place to eat lunch at on our way to Disneyland. I'm sorry that its gone now.
