Matterhorn 1962- Load and Unload

Three fantastic views of my favorite attraction. I know the photographer was just taking pictures of the family on the single bobsled,, but what he or she captured is just amazing. I love the details you can see including cast member costumes, the interior of the bobsleds, and the mechanical track mechanism. In the first one the maintenance cast member is working on the track switching mechanism.

Making the final turn into unload/load area. The background is mesmerizing. My favorite picture sign is featured prominently.

Parting image is the load area with happy guests awaiting the bobsled.

In that second image look at how everybody in the queue is totally interested in the attraction! Now they'd all be texting.

This is a real nice set of photo's. The excitement of this attraction is still alive today. All modern coasters bloom from this attraction, this boarding/unloading area, this track. Truly an event; not just a 'ride'.

These are really nice! I especially love that second photo, with the bright little single bobsled.

I love the silhouette of the man taking a picture on the photo spot sign!

But look at how beat up those bobsleds in the last picture look! And that was only after being open for 3 years? Crazy!

I had to do a double take on that first photo; almost looked like that lady was on a cell phone!

The second picture needs the caption "Remain Seated Please....."

I laughed when I saw the third picture because the family has gone on again, this time the son is sitting behind the dad in the back seat.

Man, the bobsleds look so beat up! I am sure that it Walt were alive he would have...wait a minute, Walt was alive during this time. I wonder why Walt did not address this issue promptly. After all, Disneyland was closed 2 days of the week. ha ha

But kidding aside, I love pictures of the Matterhorn loading area before it was remodeled with dual sleds. The only thing I wish to see is how it was all operated and how it differs from the remodeled version.
