Souvenir Friday- Disneyland Telephone Directory 1956

From Disneyland, the first few pages of the May 28, 1956 Telephone directory.

Let me know if you want to see more of the directory with the names of the employees.

This seems like something Jason would want to see all of for sure. I love the old phone numbers with the letter prefixes; "Just dial SPringfield-5 3216".

Only "Frito Co." (Casa de Fritos) has a mark next to it. Somebody had the munchies!

Is there any listing for, or any mention of a Jim (or perhaps James) Warrick in this directory? I'm trying to find out more about him, and anything you might find here would be amazing!

What a wonderful, detailed and unique look at early Disneyland. My favorite entry - "Leagues, 20,000".

Any idea how the phone was answered? If this was the Queen Mary, we'd be instructed to say "Extension 385, Mr Toad."

Nametag Museum- two James Warrick are listed, one with the middle initial of L and the other has the middle initial of W. Both had the same extension (350), with one working on Main Street (Department 31) and the other working Department 41 which is not listed.

Thanks so much for the info. I think the Warrick I am looking for is the W. from Department 41. 1955-1958 he was working as the Coast Guard-required licensed Captain at the park, so that has to be him. Since I acquired his metal supervisor badge for my collection, he has fascinated me. I do know he was on a first-name basis with Roy O., so he must have been witness to some amazing sights and sounds in those early days.

(Could you post a scan of the page that mentions him, on some future entry? I would bow in most humble gratitude.)

Jason has already seen and put in the thesaurus. ;) Department 41 was for Construction & Maintenance--this directory didn't break that division down into departments as it did for the other divisions.
