Casa De Fritos Outdoor Seating Part 1

In the 1970's the painting and decorating department documented some locations throughout Disneyland. To tie into Kevin Kidney's blog post of yesterday, here is the Casa De Fritos outdoor patio. The Frito Kid is long gone, but the bright colored tables and benches are in place. This is the Casa De Fritos I remember from my childhood.

Here is a close look at the sign and menu. The menu is upside down, maybe a sign that the restaurant was not open?

Images of the porch. I remember eating here every year.

Very cool. My dad was such a picky eater - no burgers and fries for him - he had to have Mexican food, even if it was what we called fake Mexican food having been spoiled by my mom's authentic home cooking. Anyway, so whenever we'd go to the Park, we had to eat at Casa de Fritos - yuck, LOL. This brought back some long buried memories and left me wanting to see more. Also, I long to see a photo of the old Fritos dispensing machine with the little cowboy. I'd put in a nickle, he would move and out would come a bag of Fritos. That was back in the early 60's of course.

I grew up in socal and we went to Disneyland ALL the time, but for SOME reason my folks didn't take me to Casa de Fritos. I believe my childhood was savagely taken from me because of this ;) Thank you for posting the pictures, so I can see what I missed and bring it up in therapy ;) hehe.
