Speed by Joseph Reiner New York World's Fair 1939
An allegorical statue showing the speed of communication is Speed by Joseph Reiner. Placed in the Court of Communications the statue features a speeding horse with wings ridden by a muscular rider. The decoration on the building in the background looks like the Cowan Pottery Jazz Bowl.

All of the sculptures at the Fair were very popular photo subjects; when I buy bunches of tiny snapshots, most of them are pictures of the sculptures. This one looks like an especially elaborate hood ornament!
