1939 New York World's Fair at Night
A lovely nice view of the Glass Pavilion sponsored by Owens-Corning, Owens-Illinois, and Pittsburgh Glass company. The pavilion featured a large glass furnace, fiberglass manufacturing and a bottling plant. The pavilion looks great illuminated.
This must have been amazing in color. And in person. With $10,000 in your pocket. And a hot, buttered waffle. But not in your pocket. That would be messy.
Thank goodness for the color footage that survives from this Fair - I love beautiful black and white photos like this, but seeing how colorful the place really was is an eye-opener. I'm sure it was expensive for 1939, but imagine living nearby and being able to visit regularly.
I recently found a picture of my grandparents when they were much younger. Thanks to your site I was able to identify their location, this worlds fair.

Nice work as always. Love the NYWF shots, especially 1939.
