Things From the Gate- Sidewalk Superintendent 1962

Disneyland underwent a major construction project in Adventureland in 1962. In order to promote the new attractions and explain the construction, the Disneyland Marketing Department created this brochure. I like to call it the Sidewalk Superintendent brochure. Not only does it explain the construction, but also makes the construction an attraction to see. Of course the reason I like this brochure so much it is the first descriptions of the Swiss Family Tree House, Tiki Room, Tahitian Terrace, New Orleans Square, Haunted Mansion and the Thieves Market which became Pirates of the Caribbean.

This is such a great flyer, I love the design and artwork. I can imagine being a kid and looking at this, reading about the new stuff like the Haunted Mansion. It's going to open in 1963, I can wait one more year!

I love this flyer! I have a tattered & torn copy, good copies fetch big $$$ on eBay!

The flyer itself is awesome, so much going on in the park - and Walt's disembodied head just adds to the fun.

I think one piece of info is wrong, the Thieves Market became part of Wall Street, not New Orleans Square.

Neat piece.
