The advertising broadsheet for the kennel. The drawing of the dog checking in is very nice as is the spot illustration of Ken-L-Land.

Stuff From the Park- Pancho Visits Ken-L-Land
The original sponsor of the dog and cat kennel located at the entrance to Disneyland was Ken-L-Rations. Using the alliteration to tie into the many lands of Disneyland, the kennel was named Ken-L-Land. Dogs and cats would stay there and have a fun filled day while the rest of the family enjoyed Disneyland. Of course the dogs and cats would be fed delicious Ken-L-Ration food. When the dog or cat was placed into the kennel, a registration was completed. The first picture is a registration form for Pancho in 1958.

I wanna take my doggies to Disneyland! It used to be easy and cheap - not anymore! Your pet has to have all its basic shots plus more, lots of vet certifications - its rather daunting.... It is fun to see dogs on the tram however, you know they wanna go IN the park!!!
Great vintage post - thanks!
I've heard that at WDW, the kennels offer a service in which a kennel employee has to read a story to your dog. Seriously!! i'd feel like a dope if I was that employee.
We never took pets to Disneyland, although I wanted to take my dog, just so he could stay in the Ken-L-Club.
I never read stories to my dog, that I can recall, and now, I can't ask him...:(
JG
that's just awesome....
happy trails, pancho!
Pretty cool, I've never seen anything from the kennel before. I always wondered what it was like, I remember hearing barking as I walked past it on the way to the front gate.
And here I thought only my grandmother would have a dog named Pancho! Must have been a popular name back then.
Good stuff, Patrick!
