Also constructed at the Studios was the classic Stagecoach.

Disneyland Stagecoaches at the Studio
Continuing with the exploration of the horse drawn wagons as they were built at the Walt Disney Studios. First off is the carriage style wagon with the nice Disneyland Transportation Company logo on the side of the wagon. This wagon rode the same trails as the Stagecoach. Does anyone know or recognize the two gentlemen?

More amazing photos! What ever happened to these two vehicles? I see the Black Surrey (with the yellow wheels) parked at Big Thunder Ranch, but I never see these?

I actually think that the prototype Autopia car is kind of neat, although I'm glad they didn't go with those! Maybe I like it because it is kind of clunky...
The two gentlemen were part of the original "Build Disneyland Team".
The guy on the left is Richard "Dick" Irvine.
Irvine was selected by Walt Disney to help construct Disneyland. He moved from 20th Century Fox to the Walt Disney Studio in 1952. Irvine became a senior figure at Walt Disney Imagineering.
Until his retirement in 1973, Dick headed design and planning for all Disneyland attractions, ranging from the Haunted Mansion to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Irvine became executive vice president and chief operations officer at Walt Disney Imagineering in 1967.
The short gentleman is Marvin Davis (not Marc Davis). Marvin developed the master plan for Disneyland.
Thanks for the information Viewliner. I am really good at recognizing things in the park and not as much as recognizing the executives for Disneyland.
That old prototype Autopia car has a '30s Buck Rogers kinda feel. Wish we could see more details on that little car. It might even go BETTER in the goofy "tomorrow"-land that goes on now in the park.

Sorry to be late to the discussion, but the gentleman on the right is C. V. Wood. On the left might be Jack Rorex, head of studio construction. Could be Owen Pope, the horse wrangler and wagon builder. It is definitely not Dick Irvine--have you seen photos of Dick Irvine?
