Horse Drawn Fire Wagon At Walt Disney Studios

Prior to the opening of Disneyland several of the sound stages at the Walt Disney studio were taken over by a menagerie of animals for the Jungle Cruise and a parking garage full of ancient and obsolete vehicles. One of those obsolete vehicles is the Horse Drawn Fire Wagon. First view shows a nice side view of the vehicle with the detailing of the 1890's time period.

Not only were the wagons constructed and stored, but also the wagons were given a trail run. I believe the Zorro set is in the background.

More pre-opening goodness... Did the fire wagon always have three horse's?

I say put some rubber tires on that baby and run it down Main Street again! Thanks for the awesome post!

Yeah, three horses is a bit unusual I'd say. But they look great! I love vintage photos taken on the backlot, and wish I could have seen it the way it was then...

A 3 hitch is great for sharp turns at speed because of the short length, but still has the power of three. Especially in those days when streets were smaller and narrow.
