Souvenir Friday- Early Disney Name Badges

As a companion piece to last Friday's post on early Disneyland name badges, here are two related badges. The first is a real early and low number badge for the Disneyland Hotel and Restaurant. Also made by the LA Stamp and Badge company.

The next is an interesting badge. The badge reads WED Imagineering and has a number. The piece itself only measures 1.75 by 0.5 inches. The back is a simple safety pin glued to the piece of metal. I am not sure if this was a name badge, a visitor badge or someone just took a serial number piece and made it into a badge. Whatever it is, I do like the graphics on the front.

Fun vintage badges! I like the WED graphics too, somehow it reminds me of the skinny black ties in 60's!

I've also loved the WED font. Perhaps it's just the power of association.

The WED "badge" looks like a property tag that would have been affixed to WED property like typewriters desks and so forth.

The WED pin is mighty strange. In fact, 'anonymous' may be on the right track - we've seen very similar property tags. And having what looks like a safety pin stuck on the back makes a fellow raise an eyebrow. Neat piece, though. Thanks for the look.

Out of curiosity, who is the owner of these early metal badges>

Anonymous- I think you are correct in that the WED badge is made from a property tag.

Nametag- almost all the items posted on this blog are in my collection.

These are really interesting and safe badges. The badge reads WED Imagineering and has a number. Also the glue at the back makes them safer.
