A Bright Sunny Day at the Rivers of America

One of my favorite spots is right at the river bend on the Rivers of America. A very scenic view of not only New Orleans Square, but also of Tom Sawyers Island. The first shows the scene from the ground. I have never seen that much popcorn in one of the popcorn machines. And for those readers who remember my trivia quiz, the large stump is the petrified tree from Colorado.

The second image is from the top deck of the Mark Twain. I love the buildings for New Orleans Square in the background.

I love the river (rivers?) too, especially at night! I always wished that they'd let you explore Tom Sawyer Island after dark, but I know that there would be lawsuits by the zillions!

another interesting note about that petrified tree is that walt actually gave that to lilian as a wedding anniversary gift and she then placed it in the park.

Great Sunny day post! WOW that's a lot of popcorn! If I was working the stand, I would do the same thing, can you imagine the constant battle all day to keep enough popcorn in the "bin", I wouldn't wanna be around if it ran out!

Very nice shots. Always liked the popcorn carts.

It's neat to see the trees there. I think they have been removed for better viewing for fantasmic.

Great memories. And yes, one of the nicest picture spots. And that view from the MT, oh how I wished now that I had my Kodak Instamatic camera with me in the Wheelhouse. Now THAT was a view!

wow funny thing is that those shots could be taken today and everything would be in the same spots (popcorn, petrified tree)
