another shot from the Mark Twain Riverboat, this time the fishing shack seen on Tom Sawyers Island. This particular structure is the smallest restroom at Disneyland and quite rustic. The nice part is that it is usually the cleanest as no one knows it is there and it is not used. I also believe this is where the fishing would take place and that is why there are markers in the water to keep those Keel Boat Captains and Canoe rowers out of the area.

Is that a track that is visible under water? It looks like it heads right through the float barrier! And I'm obviously not very observant, is the shack still there?
Hey Major- I think the track you are seeing is part of the Mark Twain (or a reflection.) And yes the structure stands today as a restroom (close to the mill and at the exit end of the Injun Joe's cave.)
don't know whether it makes a difference to you (i'm guessing no!), but i've kickstarted a new blog, and since it has a little to do with disneyland, somewhat to do with anaheim, and a lot to do with orange county, i thought you might like a chance to see it.

How funny to see a picture of this little building again.
One year, my dad's brother went with us to Disneyland. We were regular visitors, probably my fifth or sixth trip, but my uncle's first. I was about eight.
Uncle was following me around the island. I had to use a restroom, this was the closest one (I think Ft. Wilderness had some too). So I ran over without thinking about it. It was familiar to me from previous trips. My uncle ran over and had a fit..."dont go in there, that will be filthy, we can go back to one on shore.." then he saw the inside, all gleaming clean white tile. He was amazed, unused to Disneyland illusions. He expected a grubby outhouse with a hole in the floor, much like Tom Sawyer probably was used to...
