A collection of images and other items from Disneyland, theme parks and other amusement parks. Also look for images and items I find interesting, amusing or both.
A nice image of a little girl holding hands with one of the pigs.
A rather dark image of the Jungle residents attempting to attack the passing by boat.
Last image from the Jungle Cruise is the ancient Cambodian Shrine built by ancient Cambodian Shriners. I wonder what type of fez they wore?
Last image is of the rock formation for Nature's Wonderland in the Living Desert section. I believe these formations are still in existence at Disneyland.
To add a little color, a poster from 1968 for Disneyland After Dark. The poster has a great Pop art design. Let's go to Disneyland after 4 PM and check out the performers.
Next up is the statues on the fairgrounds. The greenery around the statue makes a nice contrast to the asphalt and concrete of the fairgrounds.
Final image is an interior picture of the Coca Cola pavilion showcasing the many products of the large beverage company.
A nice view of the bubble and lights on the wall of one of the Tomorrowland show buildings.
A view of the eating and waiting area besides the Rocket to the Moon attraction. I am still enamored of the lights in Tomorrowland especially with the Jungle Cruise attraction poster. Off on the left side is the Wen-Mac Flight Circle.
Another view of the Rocket to the Moon attraction with the rare sight of the Tomorrowland ticket booth. In the background is the Flight Circle, with the large Wen Mac flag fluttering in the wind. I wonder if Cox Pilot was working this day?
A visually stunning shot of the American Motors Circarama theater and the great directional signs on the right hand side. The directional signs remind me of the signs seen in Alice in Wonderland.
Last image is of the building housing the Crane Bathroom of Tomorrow exhibit.
A close up and lightened image of the interior. In the far right you can see a desk where a representative from Crane would speak to guests about the Bathroom of Tomorrow (as well as give out the rare brochure.)
A view down one of the tributaries. This photograph does not even look like it is in Disneyland.
The snapping alligators are another danger to be negotiated. I have never noticed the rope bridge in the background. A very nice touch of realism in the jungle.
A last ditch charge by a rhino misses the boat and the photographer survives.
The photographer then decided that it was time to visit the Jungle River Cruise. I have always liked this version of the Jungle Cruise boathouse.
Of course a view of Schweitzer Falls, showing the front side of water.
Last image for today is of the Monkey shrine with the jewels at the feet of the idol. I miss the bas relief carved elephant wall.
Next up is a nice speeding view of the E.P. Ripley. It appears the train is racing the Mark Twain.
Another speeding view, this time the Stagecoach coming right towards the photographer. Nice outfits on the two sisters.
A view of the Indian Village from the Mark Twain. Sure looks like the Native American dancers are sleeping in.
My favorite image in this group, a nice pastoral image of Frontierland with the winding paths that were used by the Pack Mules. One of the pack of mules carrying guests can be seen in the upper right hand corner.
Still on the hunt for an early 1970's Walt Disney World cup. If you have one, please let me know. Or if you have a nice image of someone holding one, I am interested. Thanks.
Next a view of the undersea colony.
A closer view of one of the buildings in the colony. I love the school of fish.
Finally a view of the space exploration area featuring the rocket fuel farm with one of the ride vehicles on the far right.
An unusual view of the steam engine and drive shaft for the paddle. This is one of the pieces I like watching when riding the Twain.
Next up is a nice slide of the Indian Chief greeting us from the banks of the River of America. Note the rest of his tribe are up on the hill.
And it appears a little work is happening on Tom Sawyer's Island.
