Oooh, I am loving this series! Notice that there are NO guests on the pirate ship?
NONE of the photos in this bunch are "ho hum"! I think the Pirate Ship didn't open until near the end of August 1955, which would mean that your photos were taken within the first month of Disneyland's opening.
Those pointy souvenir hats are ridiiiiculous!
Wow, the mermaid isn't even on the bow of the ship yet!
I always hated that fence around the teacups. It looks so cheap and sleazy. Shows the need to finish within budget.
Notice how the scalloped design has all the points facing up to discourage climbing and sitting on the fence? Maximum effect for minimum cost and still looks festive, if you don't look to closely.
