A Visit to Disneyland by Grandma and Grandpa

A couple of nice photographs when someone's Grandmother and Grandfather visited Disneyland. The first shot is spectacular with the lovely couple posing in front of the entrance sign.

A nice view of Fantasyland with the Chicken of the Sea Pirate ship in the background and the Casey Junior train entrance in the foreground.

When I was very young, I assumed that the electrical towers were built to deliver power to Disneyland directly. I was very irked when I finally figured out that they simply pass over the property.

Anybody know what year they went in? Did they ruffle any feathers at Disney because aside from personal nostalgia, they do ruing the look of the park.

Katella: The power lines were already there when Disnaeyland was built.

I love these two shots of the 'old folks' visiting the park. I miss my grandparents' generation (who were all about that age.)

They're all gone now, but America misses them more than we know.

Well said walter. Amazing that there was a time that one could pull off at the entrance and get that picture. Probably taken on a day the park was closed. The parking lot would be open for folks to head over to the main gate where a gift shop was located for those interested in purchasing Disney souvenirs.

I too, used to think that the towers were the electrical supply to the park. It always fed my imagination to imagine the behind the scenes inner workings of the rides and such, and envied the cast members with access. I felt older and a little jaded when I found out those power lines passed on by.
