Stuff From the Park Flashback- Yacht Bar

One of the most interesting finds was documentation on the Yacht Bar. Located next to the original lagoon in Tomorrowland, the small quick service restaurant had little documentation. The restaurant was demolished in 1967 to make way for the Tomorrowland of the time. The first image is of the Yacht Bar front.

The next two images are of the interior with great advertising signs for the sandwiches and other quick meals.

The interiors and fantastic and rare, but you know what? That exterior is pretty fantastic too!

I love seeing those old prices. Makes me long for my youth when a quarter was a whole lot of moola!

These pics are too cool. I rarely walk by this part of the park (across from the current Nemo queue) without thinking about the slanted roof & sign that used face the lagoon.

Hot Dog = 0.35 cents
Milk Shake - 0.45 cents

REALLY?

A cup of frozen dairy products more than a tube steak on a bun? Wow.

Coke & Pepsi from the window!!! EGADS! It's a world gone mad I tell you, MAD!!!!

The gates of Googie Heaven look just like the Yacht Bar.

What's with offering Coke and Pepsi? Was that common at the time?

Anon - yes it was. The cola wars weren't what they are today and exclusivity contracts were just coming into play. It was not uncommon to get the question in a restaurant: "Coke or Pepsi"?
