Two Landmarks

Two nice views of landmarks of Disneyland. One still exists, the other was destroyed by the wrecking ball in 1982. First up is a nice view of the Golden Horseshoe review with a crowd of folks waiting to see the rootinest, tootinest little show in the west.

The second image is of the Chicken of the Sea pirate ship. This is a view I have not seen before, prior to the addition of skull rock.

I would NOT want to be the guy in charge of building that ship. Not a straight line on her. The decks flair up at the ends, the sides of the ship curve inward, and you can't see it but the decks all have a crown in them like a road.

I'm sure if I tried, my version of Capt'n Hook's pirate ship would turn out looking like the Disney Music Hall.

I've always thought it was odd that the Golden Horseshoe had that cloth banner out in front of it for so long. Eventually a real, permanent sign was made (actually, by 1963 it was there).
