New York World's Fair Snapshots

An interesting collection of snap shots from the New York World's Fair. The first three are from the Hollywood Pavilion with the entrance, Cleopatra set and West Side Story set.

Part of the mid century modern artwork on the Vatican Pavilion.

The Chrysler Pavilion.

The Giant General Tire ride.

The GM Futurama pavilion.

The Ford Pavilion with the Disney designed Magic Skyway.

Wow, I've never seen photos of the Cleopatra and West Side Story sets before... didn't even know they existed! I just scanned a bunch of 64 NYWF slides last night, so I am definitely in a World's Fair mood!

I know we don't do movie reviews here, so I will just mention I saw "Cleopatra" for the first time last week - and yes, the movie is as dreadful as its reputation.

By the way, I'm Catholic, and I can't make heads or tails out of the artwork on the Vatican Pavilion. If the photo were clearer, it might help.
