The ride operator in this photograph definitely looks like 1950s cool with his flat top and rolled sleeves.
A collection of images and other items from Disneyland, theme parks and other amusement parks. Also look for images and items I find interesting, amusing or both.

Wow, has that area ever changed over the years. I rode Autopia once the first time we visited DL (1997) but haven't been near that area since except passing through on the DL railway en route to the Primevil World!
Super Autopia Set thanks! Were these from prints or slides? Are there even such a thing as black & white slides?
I have seen black and white slides, usually very old ones though.
This set of slides really epitomizes a day at Disneyland back in the 50's!
I'm fascinated by the original Autopia.
Thanks for these.
How well I remember standing on these very numbers and thinking "If you're stupid enough to need the number "9" to have an underline, maybe you need to do the species a favor and get run over."
Such vindiction for an 8 year old!
What great feeling it was to stand on “your” number waiting for “your” car to pull up. And then you get in, hit the accelerator and pull away from Mom and Dad! You are really on your own!
