Pre-Opening Drawing Rocket to the Moon

One of the most beautiful and fascinating images of pre-opening art is this dual rendition of the Rocket to the Moon attraction. The queue cover looks like Mission Space in EPCOT, but just better. In many ways the designs for Tomorrowland still look futuristic and include elements WDI should think about putting into place. I have also never seen the interior rendering in any other published source.

The interior is relatively close to the final version....that exterior is pretty cool though! Love the art palette roof!

WOW, these are fantastic! This is my favorite one, although yesterday's post of the Fountains was a close second. If only WDI could use some of these ideas, I agree, they do still look futuristic!

THANKS for these rare treats...

ps. where did these come from?

This stuff is absolutely fabulous. Nice work! This is a great synergy for me, as I have just recently been rewatching the Disney Treasures Tomorrowland DVD set.

The photos are all from a pre-opening press kit that was the property of the manager of the Sunnyside Farms store on Main Street. She was there on opening day. I have a lot more images as well as some opening day snapshots she took and her Disneyland ID card.
